Numerical examination of the substitute continuum model of space frames

Topic description:

Double-layered rattles are ideal for long-span covers. These can be calculated without any problems with finite-element software, but specifying the geometry of large structures with many bars is time consuming and laborious.

Flat grids can also be examined as plates, but this requires knowing the rigidity characteristics of a continuous plate model replacing the grid. The latter is determined by the geometry and rod characteristics of the grid and is not necessarily isotropic to the replacement plate.

The aim of the research is to:

(a) Numerical verification of the characteristics of known analytically defined continuums of articulated grids.

(b) Numerical and analytical determination of the continuum characteristics of new types of grids.

(c) Numerical determination of the continuum characteristics of rigid-contact grids.

For whom it is recommended:

I recommend it to anyone interested in structural structures and their numerical examination, and like to program or want to learn it.
