The Department of Mechanics, Materials, and Structures is involved in research, education, and innovation in the fields of structural engineering and applied mechanics. We train our students to recognize, understand, and solve the structural challenges of architecture. We help them to acquire the skills necessary for the structural design of buildings. In the architectural engineering curriculum, we promote analytical thinking and the development of engineering intuition.
